Mechanic Assistant
Position Summary:
Assist the mechanic in all duties required to maintain equipment to company and DOT standards.
There are open positions in Enid and Elk City, Oklahoma.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in repairs and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment such as trucks, electric generators, and construction machinery, using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools.
• Support mechanic in diagnosing trouble, determining appropriate and cost effective repairs, and examining parts for defects and excessive wear.
• Assist in reconditioning and replacing parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings using mechanic hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• May weld and cut parts, using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Relevant experience with engine maintenance and repair. Diesel engine experience a huge plus.
Qualifications/Skills and Abilities Requirements:
• Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions from Mechanic.
• Safely perform correct repairs to company equipment with supervisor’s authorization.
• Diesel-Engine Mechanic designation a huge plus.
